introduction
Titanium Grade 1 in CNC Machining
Titanium Grade 1 is the most formable and softest among the four commercially pure titanium grades.
Grade 1’s low hardness can lead to galling and heat buildup during machining. We use tools with sharp cutting edges to reduce heat, but we avoid aggressive cutting because of its low thermal conductivity. Grade 1 is highly resistant to corrosion and easily weldable. It’s used in harsh environments, especially in marine and chemical industries. Additionally, it is used for creating anodes in cathodic protection applications.
Titanium Grade 1 is available in different forms, including coil (strip, foil, ribbon) and wire (profile, round, flat, square). It can undergo different finishing operations to achieve your desired surface finish. These operations are hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing, and descaling. You can collaborate with our team to discuss which finish suits your project.

TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
Basic Knowledge of Titanium Grade 1
What is Titanium Grade 1?
Grade 1 Titanium, the purest among commercially pure titanium grades, is ideal for the medical industry due to its biocompatibility and formability. It contains a minimum of 99.5% titanium and small amounts of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, and hydrogen.
It has excellent cold formability and impact resistance, so it’s great for spin-forming shapes. It’s commonly used in chemical processing due to its corrosion resistance. Its self-healing oxide layer enhances durability.

Other Materials
Mild Steel
Forging, welding, and machining mild steel are some of DEK’s expertise. Because of mild steel’s high malleability and ductility, it can be easily formed, bent, and stretched without breaking.
Aluminum
Aluminum is one of the most commonly used metals in the world because of its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, low cost, and recyclability.
Alloy Steel
Powerful than carbon steel, more wear-resistant, more tear-resistant. Alloy steel is durable and can withstand high-temperature environments.
