Engineer-Reviewed CNC Machining Quote in 6 Hours

A CNC machining quote from DEK is prepared by an engineer who reads your drawing, not by a calculator. Send your files and get unit price, lead time and DFM notes within 6 hours.

  • 6 Hours

  • ±0.005 mm

Why We Do Not Use an Automated Quote Calculator

Buyers sometimes ask for a CNC machining quote online, meaning an automated price from an uploaded model. DEK does not offer one: calculators estimate cutting time from geometry and miss what drives cost on precision parts. A manual review catches it before the order.

What to Send With Your Request for Quote

    3D CAD Model

A STEP, STP, IGES or SLDPRT model defines the geometry used for programming and cycle-time estimation. It is the core of any request for quote CNC package.

    2D Drawing (PDF)

The PDF drawing carries the tolerances, threads, finish symbols and critical dimensions the model cannot. Send it alongside the 3D model, not instead of it.

    • PDF
    Quantity, Grade, Finish

Quantities with future batches (setup amortizes differently at 5, 50 and 5,000 pieces), material grade, and any finish or heat treatment affecting dimensions.

    • Grade
    • Finish
    Tolerances and Documents

Mark critical dimensions and the tightest tolerances so the engineer can plan grinding, EDM or extra inspection, and list the reports you need with the parts.

    Payment and Confidentiality

Drawings are seen only by staff working on your order, and a signed NDA is available before you send any files. DEK accepts bank transfer and PayPal, with prepayment on new accounts. Pricing factors are explained in our CNC machining cost guide.

How an Order Runs From RFQ to Delivery

Prototypes typically ship in 3–5 days after payment, small batches in 4–7 days.

    • 1 Send Your RFQ

Files and requirements through the contact form or by email to quote@dekmake.com.

    • 2 Engineering Review

Quote within 6 hours for most parts, with DFM notes.

    • 3 Confirm the Quote

Confirm the quote and issue your purchase order.

    • 4 Prepayment

Prepayment by bank transfer or PayPal.

    • 5 Machining & Inspection

Parts are machined and inspected through IQC, IPQC and FAI.

    • 6 Final Inspection

Photos and video before packing, with inspection and material reports on request.

    • 7 Shipping

DHL, FedEx or UPS, delivered in 3–7 days worldwide.

What Your CNC Machining Quote Includes

Every quote is checked by an engineer. Tolerances of ±0.005 mm on metal and ±0.01 mm on plastics are standard across our CNC machining service.

    • What You Get Back With Every Quote

Every quote comes back with the figures and engineering notes needed to issue a purchase order.

      • Unit price at each quantity you asked for
      • Lead time for machining plus the shipping option quoted
      • Shipping cost by DHL, FedEx or UPS, or sea freight for heavy orders
      • DFM notes: thin walls, deep pockets, unreachable corners or tolerances that push the part into a more expensive process
      • Material and finish confirmation, with a cheaper alternative suggested where function allows

Minimum order None, from one piece
    • What a Cutting-Time Calculator Misses

A calculator estimates cutting time from geometry. An engineer reading the drawing prices what the geometry alone does not reveal, before the order rather than as a change request after.

      • Heat-treat distortion: hardened 4140 or 17-4 PH parts move after treatment, so holding ±0.005 mm means planning stock for post-grinding.
      • Post-grinding and EDM: bores, sharp internal corners and ground faces need a second process.
      • Tight tolerances: a cutting-time model prices ±0.01 mm the same as ±0.1 mm.
      See Cost Factors
On the Drawing What the Engineer Plans
Hardened 4140 or 17-4 PH Stock left for post-grinding
Bores, sharp inner corners A grinding or EDM step
±0.01 mm instead of ±0.1 mm New setup, slower feed
Tight tolerance features An extra inspection step

    Quote and RFQ Questions

Turnaround, file formats, minimum order and how long a quote stays valid.

How long does a CNC machining quote take at DEK?
Most quotes are returned within 6 hours of receiving complete files. Very complex parts or multi-part assemblies can take up to 3 days.
What file formats do you accept for an RFQ?
PDF drawings plus STEP, STP, IGES or SLDPRT models. A 2D PDF with tolerances and finish call-outs is strongly recommended alongside the 3D model.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. DEK quotes and machines from one piece to 10,000+ pieces, with unit price shown at every quantity you request so you can see how setup cost is amortized.
How long is a quote valid?
12–15 days. Material prices change, so quotes older than that are refreshed at no charge before an order is confirmed.
