introduction
PEI Ultem 2300 30% Glass Filled in CNC Machining and Injection Molding
PEI Ultem 2300 is a high-performance thermoplastic material reinforced with 30% glass fibers, enhancing strength and stiffness.
The inclusion of these fibers also contributes to heightened mechanical strength and stiffness. This material has notable chemical resistance against various chemicals, including solvents and acids. We use tools with higher hardness and wear resistance at a low cutting speed because this material can be abrasive. Carbide or diamond tools are commonly used for machining glass-filled materials. Its high-temperature resistance, surpassing 200°C (392°F), is further improved by the addition of glass fibers, enhancing its thermal stability.
The reinforcement with glass fibers not only increases strength but also minimizes dimensional changes in response to temperature variations, ensuring dimensional stability. Furthermore, Ultem retains its excellent electrical insulating properties, even with the incorporation of glass fibers. It is flame resistant and produces low smoke, as well as excellent electrical insulating properties and a high strength-to-weight ratio. We offer this material in film, sheet, and rod forms.
