CNC Machining Engineers

We don't use online automated quotation tools, because it is very inaccurate. Online quote platforms rely solely on calculations based on cutting amounts and fixed coefficients, they fail to account for actual processing nuances, such as material deformation after heat treatment, tight tolerance requirements, grinding after heat treatment, etc. Consequently, automated price calculations can lead to inaccuracies, ultimately increasing your costs.

But you can rest assured at DEK!

Our quotations are both cost-effective and accurate because we have a team of professional mechanical engineers who meticulously review each drawing. These engineers boast over 10 years of experience and possess deep expertise in programming, machine operation, post-processing, material properties, and more. TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW

Knowledge about CNC Machining

Overview of CNC Machining

CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses computer-controlled machines to remove material from a workpiece to create a custom-designed part. Unlike additive manufacturing (like 3D printing) which builds material layer by layer, CNC machining starts with a solid block of material (a blank or workpiece) and carves it into the desired shape.

The "Computer Numerical Control" refers to the fact that a computer program dictates the movements of the machine's tools, such as drills, mills, and lathes. This automation allows for exceptional precision, consistency, and the creation of complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with manual machining.

How It Works?

The CNC machining process follows a few key steps:

Design: First, a 2D or 3D digital model of the part is created using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.Programming: The CAD file is then converted by Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software into a set of instructions for the CNC machine. This code, often called G-code, directs the machine's movements, tool changes, speed, and feed rate.
Machining: The CNC machine's operator sets up the machine with the necessary tools and the workpiece. The machine then follows the G-code to automatically cut and shape the material into the desired part with high precision and consistency.

Benefits of CNC Machining

High Precision & Consistency: It produces identical parts with extremely tight tolerances, eliminating human error.

Speed & Efficiency: CNC machines run continuously with high speed, reducing production time and increasing output.

Cost-Effective: While the initial investment is high, it lowers labor costs, reduces material waste, and is highly efficient for both prototypes and high-volume production.

Complex Designs & Flexibility: It can create highly complex shapes and intricate geometries that are impossible for manual methods and works with a wide variety of materials.
