Material Options
Metals
SPCC
Cold-rolled steel sheet (SPCC), also known as cold-rolled mirror steel. It is made of hot-rolled carbon structural steel strip, which is further cold-rolled into a thin steel plate with a smooth and shiny appearance. Since it is rolled at room temperature, no iron oxide scale is produced.
Therefore, cold-rolled steel has excellent surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Further annealed, its mechanical properties and processing properties are superior to those of hot-rolled steel sheet, making it one of the most commonly used sheet metal materials. It features low cost, easy processing, moderate strength, and good bending performance, and is widely used in automotive parts.
SGCC
Hot-dip galvanized steel (SGCC), also known as galvanized iron, refers to the semi-finished product after hot-rolled pickling or cold-rolled, which is washed, annealed, immersed in a molten zinc bath at a temperature of about 460°C, so that the steel sheet is coated with zinc, and then chemically treated.
SGCC material is harder than SECC material, has poor ductility, thicker zinc layer, and poor electric weldability, but because it has a high anti-rust effect, it is used for outdoor roofs, etc.
Galvanized Sheet
Galvanized sheet (SECC), also known as "electrolytic sheet," is a material made by electro-galvanizing SPCC. This process involves continuously depositing zinc onto the surface of a pre-prepared steel strip from a zinc salt aqueous solution under the influence of an electric field to obtain a galvanized layer. Due to the limitations of the process, the coating is relatively thin.
Like SPCC, it has excellent workability, rust resistance, and corrosion resistance, and it has an attractive appearance. It also has excellent paintability, making it suitable for use as a casing for indoor equipment and other applications.
SPHC
Hot-rolled steel is rolled through a mill at high temperatures (usually above 1000°C). At high temperatures, the plasticity of the steel is enhanced, making it easier to form the desired shape.
It is considered a low-end, rust-prone material with a typical thickness of over 3mm. It is low-cost but difficult to shape, and it is commonly used to produce parts for automobiles, ships, hinges, and other equipment.
SUS304
SUS304, one of the most widely used stainless steels, has a density of 7.93 g/cm³ and is also known as 18/8 stainless steel. It has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance (high temperature resistance of 800℃), very good mechanical properties, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon and no elasticity.
SUS304 is more expensive than SPCC and slightly more difficult to process, but its exceptional rust resistance is highly praised. It is used in various components, including daily necessities like custom stainless steel cabinets.
SUS316, SUS430, SUS301
In addition to SUS304, there are also SUS316, SUS430, etc., which are alloy steels made by adding chromium and nickel to iron. Their characteristics include strong rust resistance and an attractive appearance.
Stainless steel SUS301: The chromium (Cr) content is lower than that of SUS304, resulting in poorer corrosion resistance. However, after cold working and stamping, it can achieve excellent tensile strength and hardness, with good elasticity. It is widely used in spring clips and EMI shielding.
Aluminium Sheet
Aluminum has a low density but high strength, close to or exceeding that of high-quality steel. It has good plasticity and can be processed into various profiles. It also features lightweight, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and low-temperature resistance. An oxide film forms naturally on its surface, providing corrosion resistance. It is widely used in aerospace, aviation, automotive, and marine industries.
The most commonly used aluminum sheet is A5052P. A5052P is a lightweight material that is easy to bend and fold and is resistant to rust.
Copper
Pure copper (containing more than 99.5% Cu), also known as red copper, appears reddish-purple after a copper oxide film forms on its surface. It has very high thermal and electrical conductivity, strong chemical stability, and corrosion resistance. It also has high plasticity, allowing it to withstand various cold and hot pressure processes well. However, its disadvantages are low strength and hardness, so it is generally not used for structural components.
Brass
Brass is a copper-zinc alloy with mechanical properties related to the amount of zinc, generally not more than 50% zinc. With high strength and excellent cold and hot workability, easy to use for various forms of pressure processing and cutting.
Mainly used for a variety of deep drawing and bending of the stressed parts, its electrical conductivity is not as good as copper, but has good strength and hardness.
Beryllium Copper
Copper alloys containing beryllium (Be) have excellent strength, hardness, elasticity, wear resistance, excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, cold resistance and are non-ferromagnetic. They are often used in electromagnetic shielding materials.
Bronze
Also known as copper-tin alloy. Has good wear resistance, mechanical properties, casting performance and corrosion resistance. Tin content in the alloy is generally no more than l0%, too high to reduce its plasticity. In addition to tin, tin bronze generally contains a small amount of zinc, lead, phosphorus, nickel and other elements.
Titanium
Titanium alloy has high specific strength, good corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, is widely used in aerospace, such as aircraft strip plate, bulkhead, large wall plate, aero-engine fairings and blades are a large number of titanium alloy materials.
Unlike ordinary sheet metal parts formed at room temperature, titanium alloy parts usually need to be formed at a high temperature of 550°C to 750°C. High temperature can significantly improve the process performance of titanium materials, so hot forming is the main processing method of titanium alloy sheet metal parts.

Instant & Accurate Quotes
We don't use online automated quotation tools, because it is very inaccurate. Online quote platforms rely solely on calculations based on cutting amounts and fixed coefficients, they fail to account for actual processing nuances, such as material deformation after heat treatment, tight tolerance requirements, grinding after heat treatment, etc. Consequently, automated price calculations can lead to inaccuracies, ultimately increasing your costs.
But you can rest assured at DEK!
Our quotations are both cost-effective and accurate because we have a team of professional mechanical engineers who meticulously review each drawing. These engineers boast over 10 years of experience and possess deep expertise in programming, machine operation, post-processing, material properties, and more.
