introduction
Brass Cz121 in CNC Machining
CZ121 is also known as CW614N in the European standard. It is a free-machining leaded brass alloy.
It contains a small amount of lead, which improves its machinability. Meaning, CZ121 is easy to cut and shape during machining processes. Brass CZ121 machines well at higher speeds, so we start with higher cutting speeds and adjust as needed. The specific speeds and feeds depend on the CNC machine, tooling, and other factors. Coolant is generally used during brass machining to dissipate heat and improve tool life. However, in some cases, dry machining may be suitable. CZ121 has a machinability rating of 100%, setting the standard for all other copper alloys.
This brass variant is extensively used in various industries due to its excellence in high-speed machining and crafting intricate parts. It also has favorable qualities such as good strength, easy soldering/brazing, and high corrosion resistance. It stands out as the preferred choice for a wide range of brass components. We provide CZ121 brass in different shapes like round bars, hollow bars/tubes, hexagon bars, and square bars depending on the application's requirements.

TECHNOLOGY OVERVIEW
Basic Knowledge of Brass Cz121
What is Brass Cz121?
CZ121 is a designation for a type of brass alloy. Brass is a metal alloy made primarily of copper and zinc.
The composition of CZ121 typically includes approximately 57% copper (Cu), 3% lead (Pb), and the rest is zinc (Zn), with trace amounts of other elements. The addition of lead improves the machinability of the alloy, that’s why it is easier to cut, shape, and form. However, it's important to note that the use of lead in certain applications may be restricted due to environmental and health concerns.
