Brass Turned Components from Bar Stock

DEK turns C360, CZ121 and 260 brass bar stock into valves, connectors, bushings and sensor housings on CNC lathes and Swiss-type lathes. There is no minimum order quantity.

A single prototype and a full production run follow the same process: an engineer reviews your drawing and quotes it directly, not an automated calculator. Work runs under ISO 9001, AS9100D and ISO 13485 certification, with full alloy data on our brass machining page.

Why Source Brass Turned Parts from DEK

Certified quality, proven delivery and engineer-led quoting for brass turned components, from one prototype to repeat runs.

  • Certified Quality System

ISO 9001, AS9100D and ISO 13485:2016 certification obtained through TUV covers brass turned connectors and fittings.

  • 20+ Years of Machining

More than 20 years in precision machining and a base of 2,300+ global OEM clients sourcing turned and machined parts.

  • 98.6%+ On-Time Delivery

A 98.6%+ on-time delivery rate, with prototype brass turned parts shipping in as little as 3 days.

  • No MOQ, Same Process

No minimum order: a prototype and a repeat production run are quoted the same way, by an engineer reading your drawing.

Engineer-Reviewed Quotes

Every drawing is read by an engineer, not a fixed calculator. Ambiguous callouts are flagged before quoting, and DZR or lead-free requests are confirmed as achievable before we price them.

Brass Turned Parts Capabilities

Alloys, tolerances, machines and finishes for turned brass, from sub-10 mm micro features to large turned components.

  • Brass Alloys We Turn

Three leaded brass alloys cover most turned work; the right choice depends on cycle time and secondary forming.

    • C360 brass: about 3% lead, cleanest chips
    • CZ121: CW614N grade when the drawing calls it out
    • 260: cartridge brass, higher ductility
    • None of the three grades is lead-free

    Parameter Specification
    C360 lead content About 3%
C360 best use High-volume fittings, connectors
    CZ121 designation CW614N / CZ121
    260 zinc content About 30%
260 best use Cold-forming, staking, crimping
DZR / lead-free Flag on RFQ, confirmed first
  • CNC Brass Turning Tolerances

Standard turned dimensions follow your drawing tolerancing; fit-critical features hold tighter limits.

    • ±0.005 mm on critical diameters and bores
    • ±0.005 mm coaxiality on shaft-bore fits
    • ±0.003 mm on sub-10 mm micro features
    • Tighter OD via centerless grinding

Brass Turned Parts vs. Other Turned Metals

Choose brass for corrosion-resistant fittings and connectors; move to carbon steel or aluminum turning for other metal needs, or grind when turning alone cannot hold the OD.

Criteria This ProcessBrass turned parts Carbon steel turning Aluminum turning Centerless grinding
Best for Fittings, valves, connectors Same part in steel Lighter parts Tighter OD after turning
Corrosion focus Corrosion-critical parts Different metal need Non-corrosion-critical Follows base metal
Process role Primary turning Primary turning Primary turning Secondary, after machining
Choose when Machinability, cycle time Steel is specified Weight matters OD beyond turning limits

Industries Using Turned Brass

Brass turned parts serve aerospace, medical and fluid-handling applications under AS9100D and ISO 13485 quality systems.

Turned Brass Parts We Manufacture

From brass fittings to sensor housings, these are the turned components we produce most, matched to the right alloy.

  • Valves and Valve Bodies

Typically produced in C360 for its corrosion resistance and machinability, with threads cut to your print.

  • Brass Fittings

Compression and pipe fittings in C360, the default grade for high-volume runs where cycle time matters. See fittings.

  • Bushings and Bearings

Turned brass bushings, with custom bushings ground after turning when the OD must be tighter.

  • Electrical Connectors

Electrical and fluid connectors, often in 260 when extra ductility is needed for crimping or staking.

  • Sensor Housings

Sensor housings needing secondary forming usually run in 260, with fit-critical bores held to ±0.005 mm.

  • Turned Brass Nozzles

Turned brass nozzles with coaxial bores, run on CNC or Swiss-type lathes depending on length and diameter.

Common Challenges We Handle

  • Lead-Free Requirements

C360, CZ121 and 260 are all leaded. Flag potable water or DZR needs on the RFQ and we confirm feasibility before quoting.

  • Slender Turned Features

High-aspect-ratio features run on Swiss-type lathes to hold geometry on slender brass parts.

  • Sub-10 mm Micro Features

Micro-turned features under 10 mm hold down to ±0.003 mm; see our micro machining capability.

  • Post-Turning Forming

Parts that are cold-formed, staked or crimped after turning run in 260 for its lower lead and higher ductility.

Certified Quality on Every Part

Brass turned parts are made under ISO 9001, AS9100D and ISO 13485, certified through TUV.

Brass Turned Parts FAQ

Lead times, drawings, finishes and order quantities for turned brass.

How long is the lead time on brass turned parts?
Prototype brass turned parts ship in as little as 3 days. Production lead time depends on quantity and part complexity, so we confirm it when we quote your drawing rather than list a fixed number that does not fit every order.
What drawing formats do you accept?
Send 2D or 3D drawings with your requirements; most common CAD formats work. If anything on the drawing is ambiguous, our engineers flag it before quoting rather than guess.
What plating or finishing options are available on brass turned parts?
Polishing, plating and powder coating are all available on turned brass. Anodizing is an aluminum process, not brass, so plating and polishing cover most corrosion-resistance and cosmetic requirements.
Is there a minimum order or a price break at higher quantities?
There is no MOQ: a single prototype and a large production order go through the same quoting process. Per-piece pricing drops at higher quantities, but we do not publish fixed tiers; send your quantity range and we quote it directly.
