Tungsten Steel YL10.2 in CNC Machining

YL10.2 Tungsten Carbide is created through powder metallurgy, using WC (tungsten carbide) and Co (cobalt). This material has excellent shock and bending resistance.
This material undergoes HIP sintering, or Hot Isostatic Pressing sintering, which is a manufacturing process used to enhance the properties of materials, especially metals and alloys. In this method, the material, often in the form of powder, is subjected to both high temperature and high pressure simultaneously. The process involves placing the material in a sealed container and subjecting it to elevated temperatures and pressure from all directions. This results in a more uniform and dense product with improved mechanical properties, such as increased strength and durability.
YL10.2 has exceptional wear resistance. We can do post-processing operations like surface treatments. The polished surface further enhances their performance. Additionally, it has good toughness, high elasticity, and chemical stability. It performs well in various conditions, including resistance to acid, alkali, and high-temperature oxidation. It has low impact toughness, a low expansion coefficient, and thermal conductivity, similar to iron and other alloys. This material is specifically designed for use as forming or stamping dies, catering to both metal and non-metal powders with versatile applications.
