Tungsten Steel YG8 in CNC Machining

Did you know that Tungsten Steel YG8 has physical properties three times higher than steel? This means it’s more durable and long-lasting, saving you time and money in the long run.
YG8 grade tungsten carbide is highly compatible with various manufacturing processes. Its hardness and strength allow it to withstand demanding operations. The high wear resistance of YG8 ensures that tools made from this material perform consistently over prolonged periods, even under intense friction and stress. It's really tough and can take a lot of wear and tear, which is perfect for making tools or machine parts that need to last.
This material also keeps its shape well when things get hot and doesn't rust easily. When it comes to CNC work, you want a material that won't give up under stress or lose its cool in high heat. Plus, if your project needs something that can take a hard hit without breaking, this is your go-to metal. It's not just strong; it's smart for those long-term projects where toughness counts every day.

Basic Knowledge of Tungsten Steel YG8
What is Tungsten Steel YG8?
Tungsten Steel YG8, also called tungsten carbide with 8% cobalt, is a tough material used in manufacturing. The designation “YG” refers to the initials of the Chinese pinyin of "hard and cobalt" with the number 8 denoting the percentage of cobalt content. The strong chemical properties of Tungsten Steel YG8 help it bond well but can lead to challenges with bonding and peeling in some situations. It's very hard and strong which makes it great for cutting, drilling, milling, and shaping tools.
It has a transverse rupture strength of around 2200 MPa and is known for its excellent resistance to wear and ability to withstand impacts. YG8 forms a hard carbide along with iron tungstite which makes it suitable for tough industrial environments where durability is important. Engineers rely on this material because it performs well in high-stress operations like metalworking and precision machining.

Other Materials

Invar
Invar expands or contracts only slightly when exposed to temperature fluctuations. Its low CTE helps prevent warping, distortion, or other changes in the material's size and shape.

Cast Iron
Cast iron is a group of iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content greater than 2%.It has exceptional durability and heat retention. It is commonly used for cookware.

Bronze
Bronze is a copper-tin alloy with good castability and excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance and chemical stability. And it is one of the most important metals in manufacturing different products.
