Custom Tungsten Carbide Parts in Lavorazione CNC

CNC-Machining-Tungsten-Tool(1)

Tungsten steel, a composite material made by combining a compound of tungsten and carbon (tungsten carbide, WC) with other metals such as cobalt, nickel, and iron. Known for its extremely high hardness and wear resistance, tungsten steel is widely used in applications  (sharpening tools and molds) requiring high strength and durability.

At DEK, we have advanced CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, laser cutting machine, EDM machine, etc. and professional machining technology. We specialize in processing various types of tungsten steel, such as tungsten steel YG6, YG8, YG15,YL50,YL10.2,YW1,YT15,YG10X. Whether it's simple cutting or complex precision machining, DEK always meets your diversified needs.

In addition, you can also get high quality surface finishing (plating, painting, etc.) and tight tolerances at DEK. Our precision service ensures high quality parts for the manufacturing, mining, and aerospace industries, and is ideal for all kinds of molds (stamping molds, injection molds, and extrusion molds), mining drill bits, engine parts (turbine blades, nozzles, guide vanes), high-temperature structural components, and more!  If you have a need for custom tungsten steel parts, contact us now!

Conoscenze di base of Tungsten Steel

What is Tungsten Steel?

Acciaio al tungsteno is a type of steel that contains tungsten as its main alloying element. This element, usually present in amounts between 2% and 18% by weight, along with small amounts of molybdenum and vanadium, gives the steel exceptional heat, corrosion, and wear resistance.

Tungsten has been used for a long time in alloying steel, forming a hard carbide and iron tungstite. However, high tungsten content can make the alloy brittle and prone to fracturing instead of bending.

Advantages of Tungsten Steel

Elevato punto di fusione

Excellent hardness

Resistenza all'usura superiore

Buona conducibilità termica

Resistenza alla corrosione

Alta densità

Forte e durevole

Resistant to deformation

Ideal for cutting tools and high-temperature applications.

Applications of Tungsten Steel

Componenti aerospaziali

Contatti elettrici

Filament in light bulbs

Radiation shielding

Missile and rocket components

Componenti per forni ad alta temperatura

Penetratori balistici

FAQ

Machining Tungsten Steel Domande frequenti sull'acquisto

We generally select tungsten heavy alloys for machining, as their machinability and engineering properties are similar to steel. We generally use milling, drilling, cutting, grinding, joining, plating, sawing, tapping, turning, waterjet cutting, wire cutting and sinker EDM for machining.
Yes, we have rich experience in processing customized tungsten steel rings, our machine shop has advanced CNC equipment and skilled machinists, we can provide diverse solutions for your projects!
It may not be an ideal choice for traditional sword-making. Swords typically require a balance of hardness and flexibility to withstand impacts and prevent breakage. Tungsten steel, being extremely hard, is more brittle and may be prone to fracturing under heavy impact.
It is not commonly used for bulletproof applications. Bulletproof materials must exhibit a combination of hardness, toughness, and the ability to absorb and dissipate energy upon impact. Due to its hardness and brittleness, tungsten steel may not be well-suited for this purpose.
Tungsten steel is very hard and resistant to wear but also brittle. This means that it is more likely to break than bend under stress.
Tungsten steel is not a good electrical conductor. Tungsten itself has relatively poor electrical conductivity. Tungsten carbide, which is a compound of tungsten and carbon, is even less conductive.
