What is PP (Polypropylene)?
Polypropylene (PP) is a lightweight, cost-effective, and versatile thermoplastic polymer belonging to the polyolefin group. It is produced by polymerizing propylene monomers derived from petroleum or natural gas. With a chemical formula of (C3H6)n, its chemical structure consists of repeating propylene monomers, resulting in a linear hydrocarbon polymer.
PP has a low density and melting point, as well as good mechanical strength, chemical resistance to acids and bases, and heat resistance. Additionally, PP is recyclable, marked with recycling code "5," and is considered environmentally friendly.
